I made this sheet to test out my acrylic sealer, chalk pastels, watercolour crayons, pencil crayons, and mineral makeup on. I tried to do some practice faceups so that I wouldn’t have to undo it later, but I pretty much gave up on that idea after a couple of tries. The idea was to get a feel for how the acrylic sealer grabbed the colours of each medium before I tried it in real life, but it didn’t really work at all.

Following from the previous piece, I took a different outlook on the next still life painting. I decided to look at the subtle sea colours, and the way the brush marks could blend into each other to create the scales and shine on the two creatures. The composition of the animals is surprisingly flattering as they were facing away from each other but it worked for this one small painting.
