One of the later pages that I just started winging it and getting more free-form with paint, texture, and collage. I found this slip of paper in an old journal. Some friends and I had gotten together to explore writing exercises together. One week, one of the girls brought in magazine clippings, gave us each one, and had us write a short story based on the picture. Mine was about how everything needs a place.
Re-reading the little sketch of a story, I connected with it in that PLACE is one of those things that makes us feel grounded, and losing our sense of place, getting lost in different ways, may bring us to that crucible where we most need help.
pencil, pre-made paper, magazine collage, watercolor crayon, inkpad stamping.

Did this watercolor of my grandson Zane from a photo taken by my daughter-in-law. It’s a great photo. Painted at the gallery while I was holding it open. Got some interested watchers and good comments.
